Bugcrowd CEO Ashish Gupta Wins Gold “Executive of the Year” Stevie® Award in 2020 International Business Awards®

Gupta is recognized for his achievements scaling Bugcrowd to a global organization that addresses the growing demand for crowdsourced cybersecurity and for empowering organizations to tackle common security challenges

SAN FRANCISCO –  Sept. 30, 2020 –  Bugcrowd, the crowdsourced cybersecurity platform, today announced that CEO Ashish Gupta was named the Gold Stevie® Award winner in the “Executive of the Year – Computer Software” category in the 17th Annual International Business Awards

Gupta was recognized for his role in elevating Bugcrowd to a global organization and leading cybersecurity innovation across a wide variety of industries. This award win comes on the heels of again achieving strong growth in the second fiscal quarter of 2021, driven by a 133% bookings increase in the international segment and an increase of more than 50% in international customers, as companies sought to combat new security threats targeting remote workers. Gupta also led Bugcrowd to its $30 million series D funding round – during the COVID-19 pandemic – bringing the company’s total funding to over $80 million.

Under Gupta’s leadership Bugcrowd tailored its products and processes to address the challenges that haunt the cybersecurity industry, including a severe skills shortage and broken, redundant workflows that often fail to keep up with emerging threats. “Ashish Gupta is making progress in advanced imaginative security product offerings,” shared the IBA judges. “Big companies like Google and Facebook have the ability to launch bounty incentives to help identify vulnerabilities. But smaller companies don’t have similar reach. Having a platform that enables companies of all sizes to run such programs is super powerful.”

“This award is an honor and a testament to Bugcrowd researchers, employees, customers and partners who harness the power of collective intelligence to safeguard our digitally connected world,” said Gupta. “Bugcrowd is changing how companies approach cybersecurity and we have become a Security Force Multiplier™ in any company’s security strategy. Our customers successfully leverage on-demand security talent, tools, and partners to enhance their internal resources, prioritize and remedy their hardest-to-find security vulnerabilities, and maximize the impact of their existing security investments.”

Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 250 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process from July through early September.

The International Business Awards are the world’s premier business awards program. All individuals and organizations worldwide – public and private, for-profit and nonprofit, large and small – are eligible to submit nominations. The 2020 IBAs received entries from organizations in 63 nations and territories.

As the ongoing COVID-19 crisis will prevent winners from receiving their awards on stage during a traditional gala IBA banquet, winners will be celebrated instead during a virtual ceremony on Tuesday, 1 December.
