By : Ian Tabor (@mintynet)

The process of building the Car in a box and the issues found trying to get the ECU to think it attached to a real engine. Some hints and tips on how not to kill your own car.

I’m a network architect with a passion for cars, built my own kit car in 2005 and have been upgrading it ever since. Hacked my 2015 Citroen DS5 and disclosed to the manufacturer, spoke at dc4420, bsides london & defcon 26 car hacking village. Have an interest in microcontrollers and electronics. Currently building a ‘CAR in a BOX’ to be able to make car hacking more accessible in the UK / Europe.
