2024 was a legendary year for the partnership between Bugcrowd and Hack the Box. 2025 is already proving to be another great year, and we’re just getting started. The internet is evolving rapidly, meaning security and human ingenuity must keep up. This is why Bugcrowd has invested in the future of cybersecurity through a partnership that focuses on student development and industry-relevant skills.

Recently, Bugcrowd and Hack the Box came together to host two CTFs for our students and newer hackers on the Platform. These CTFs were specially designed to upskill hackers and offer a clear path to students interested in entering the bug bounty space. Following each CTF, all participants received unique opportunities on the Bugcrowd Platform, tons of swag, and a coveted spot in the November finale of 2025.

How can I join?

Don’t miss your chance to join the largest hacking collaboration of 2025! We have only 100 spots remaining, so act quickly. If you haven’t yet secured a spot in the finals, two pathways are still available to you: 1) climb the ranks as a top earner as a student or 2) become a top submitter on the Bugcrowd platform.

Bugcrowd and Hack the Box have made qualifying accessible and feasible for even the busiest of students. The following two criteria are the most important to keep in mind:

  • To qualify as a top 25 earner, all submissions must be paid to count and non-duplicated “valid” (resolved, unresolved, won’t fix, or informational).
  • To qualify as a top 25 valid submitter via any Bugcrowd program (including VDPs) – submissions must be P4 or higher and non-duplicated “valid” (resolved, unresolved, won’t fix, or informational).

Some additional criteria to keep in mind are as follows:

  • Your account was created this year or has made less than $2.5K on the Bugcrowd platform.
  • You applied by the deadline: July 15th.
  • Vulnerabilities between July 15th and November 1st will count.
  • Your account cannot be flagged for escalations.

That’s it. Keep these front and center as you work toward securing your spot in the ultimate CTF challenge.

Conclusion

Our hope is that these events can broaden the horizons for future professional hackers, CISOs, and cybersecurity professionals.
