2017 was a fantastic year of growth for our researcher community and program owners alike, with 32% more submissions rewarded, a 25% increase to the average reward and 61% more total rewarded submissions! In 2017, 145 Researchers qualified into MVP status, and earned close to 44% of our 2017 total payouts, with a rewarded submission total of over $3 million!

Bugcrowd’s MVP program is designed to recognize our exemplary Crowd’s consistency, with yearly qualification open to all Researchers. To qualify in 2017, researchers must have maintained:

  • An average all-time submission acceptance rate of at least 80%
  • An average submission priority between 1.0 and 2.99
  • A minimum of 10 qualifying (non-duplicate) submissions for the period between July 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017.

And now the results…

In addition to the above names, Bugcrowd recognizes the following 2017 MVPS whose names were (accidentally) missed from the design: Vishnu_Vardham_Reddy and bugdiscloseguys.

Finally, congratulations to the following researchers who had qualifying submissions made prior to the June 30th deadline which were triaged after the deadline:

4lemon, cboan, cji, japp, MiniMongo, mpchadwick, Mindpollution, MrTuxracer,  no_name, s0rtega, sheddow, Slacky, StamOne_, thomas_guittonneau, Troubleshooter, ulas, xpn-security

Qualified MVP researchers are awarded a year-end bonus in the January following their qualification year (i.e. today!), based on their bounty rewards as earned between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017. Together, these researchers have been awarded a total of $75,000 in bonuses. Congratulations to all!

2018 MVP Program

Program Changes for 2018:

To better recognize the work of our amazing Crowd and the standards to which we hold them, we are making some very important adjustments to the requirements for the 2018 program:

  • Average submission acceptance rate of at least 80%Previously, this was judged against all-timeaverage accuracy, which caused confusion. This year’s program qualification will look for an average submission accuracy rate of at least 80% in the qualification period.
  • Researchers must not have had any significant enforcement infractions in the prior 6 months of their qualification date.

Finally, Bugcrowd would like to congratulate the following Researchers, who have already qualified for the 2018 MVP Program!

*Please note, this list reflects Bugcrowd Researchers with public profiles. All currently qualified 2018 MVPs received messaging this morning notifying them of their status!

These Researchers have maintained an average submission acceptance rate of at least 80% and an average submission priority between 1.0 and 2.99 on all submissions since July 1 2017, have a minimum of 10 qualifying (non-duplicate) submissions and no significant infractions.

Not qualified as a 2018 MVP? Don’t worry – the qualification period is open until June 30, 2018!
