Cisco Meraki to award up to $10,000 per vulnerability to ensure the security of its customers
SAN FRANCISCO—March 13, 2018— Cisco Meraki, the leader in cloud-managed IT, today launched a public bug bounty program with Bugcrowd, the leader in crowdsourced security. Building on the success of its private Bugcrowd program, which has rewarded 39 vulnerabilities with an average payout of $1,114.29, Cisco Meraki’s public program will leverage Bugcrowd’s global Crowd of security researchers to surface vulnerabilities — before adversaries do. Cisco Meraki will award up to $10,000 for vulnerabilities identified on their devices and cloud management interfaces.
“Our customers’ security is a top priority for the Cisco Meraki team,” said Sean Rhea, engineering director, Cisco Meraki. “We invest heavily in tools, processes and technologies to keep our users and their networks safe, including third party audits, features like two-factor authentication and our out-of-band cloud management architecture. The Cisco Meraki vulnerability rewards program is an important component of our security strategy, encouraging external researchers to collaborate with our security team to help keep networks safe. Bugcrowd has become an integral part of our overall security program, and we are excited to deepen this relationship as we expand our program.”
“With more than 3 million devices around the world, Cisco Meraki’s focus is on using crowdsourced security to keep the data of millions of end users secure,” said Ashish Gupta, CEO, Bugcrowd. “By taking their program public, Cisco Meraki is expanding their security team by the magnitude of tens of thousands and clearly demonstrating their commitment to security. We are proud to work with such a security-centric organization.”
More industry-leading organizations, including Samsung, Mastercard, Fitbit, Western Union, Square and Fiat Chrysler of America, rely on Bugcrowd’s deep security expertise and experience managing bug bounty programs. For a list of public programs, visit: https://bugcrowd.com/programs.
Bugcrowd is trusted by more of the Fortune 500 than any other crowdsourced security platform. Why? Because people need the increased security of a bug bounty without all the extra work and chaos. Bugcrowd cracked the code on crowdsourced security through rock solid program management, relationships that work, and relentless innovation. That’s how our public, private, and on-demand bug bounties find seven times as many critical vulnerabilities as traditional testing.
